I had a great stay at the Metro Aspire in Sydney! The rooms are reasonably well priced especially if booked through the website. The location is absolutely perfect! It was great that we were able to just park the car at the hotel and walk or take public transport everywhere. The hotel is a short walk from Darling Harbour and heaps of restaurants and we even walked into the heart of the city. Its also close to a light rail that we took to Circular Quay. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating and kind. The only downside to the hotel was that the rooms need soundproofing, you can often hear your neighbours or people in the hallway when in your rooms. And the bathroom was a bit weird as it didn't have a fan and would make everything inside moist. But besides that the room was great, clean and the beds super comfy. I would definitely stay here again I'm back in Sydney!
Was ok for one night! Not crazy about the place. Paper thin walls, could hear the guests in the next room snoring their heads off all night! Location was a bit random sort of hidden in a one way street blocked by a bunch of trees. On our arrival and upon checking in, although the receptionist was friendly, he failed to even mention the offer that was noted in our booking confirmation, which reads: “Free room upgrade* to an Executive Room! (*subject to availability on arrival). Includes coffee pod machine, bathrobes and slippers, bottled water and high speed WiFi. Guaranteed early check in (1pm) and late check out (12pm) 25% off food & drink at nearby Palace Hotel”. I am certain there were “executive rooms” available, but none of it was mentioned to us on arrival and of course we didn’t bring it up ourselves because well, why should we? Anyway, we wouldn’t stay here again unfortunately.
Avoid! Paper thin walls - you will hear everything in the rooms next to you. We could not sleep at all as we kept getting woken up by people even shutting their doors across the other side of the building.
Ended up having to buy earplugs so that my partner and I could sleep.
Room service was pretty terrible, they did not clean any cups we used or even make the beds properly. Iron was leaking as well so I couldn't even iron my shirt to look nice for my partner.
So glad we only stayed for 2 nights and no longer.
Stayed there twice in a fortnight as I came into the city to see bands. 1st time I slept on the pull out sofa bed, so BAD the lounge bed so uncomfortable, had to ask for pillows. The quick walk to Haymarket made up for the bad bed.
2nd time I had a bed, that was comfy though we were supposed to get an upgrade with black Friday specials, didn't happen. It was a super hot day for the 2nd visit, so the AC was lovely in the rooms. Staff were lovely and friendly.
Stayed for a few nights with some boys, nice place. Good value for the money. super friendly staff. Super helpful. Ritak was very helpful and fulfilling of our needs :)
on a positive note, this hotel is in a very quiet location
The rooms were ok but a little dated, and the walls seemed very thin as you could hear what was happening in other rooms …
Bad experience.
I lived in level 5.
No heater in that room. Really cold during night time. …
Awesome location, easy walk to China town, Darling Harbour and just around the corner from Power House museum. Buffet breakfast with panecake making machine was a hit for the kids. Undercover carpark. Perfect place for a trip to Sydney with kids. We will be back.
